About Dr. Sharon

My Story

Psychology Ph.D., Educator, Children’s Advocate

Born in Chicago, reared in upstate New York, I grew up as a wilderness guide in a family which ran its own summer camp of canoe trips in the Saranac region of NYS. I spent 6 weeks each summer paddling, portaging, cooking for 20 over an open fire, and leading campfire songs. I am happiest in jeans, on water, singing and laughing….or holding a baby.

I like people who pitch in and do the heavy lifting, and everything I have ever accomplished has been as part of a team. I’d love to help train YOUR team.

In graduate school, I studied the cognitive development of 6 month-olds. I developed a deep respect for babies – their curiosity, drive to grow, belly-laugh sense of humor, intense responsiveness, and slow, deliberate thinking speed. I love babies, and my life’s work has been to make their lives better.
